Chapter 6.2 – Drama: Espressivo of Light and Darkness Part 1 (2)
He didn’t seem to understand, and Luke nodded his head.
“There’s still only a limited number of people who know I’m going to join the student council, right?”
“Oh. No, I mean I heard you talking to the doctor.”
“If it weren’t for that “ah” you’d be doing so well.”
“Really, Luke’s being a bit of a jerk.”
Chloe lets out a sigh, saying it can’t be helped.
She seems dumbfounded, but she doesn’t try to fool me like she did when we met. I’m sure she’s let her guard down against me to some extent.
Anyway, he should be the representative of the class.
“If I’m really going to be busy, I was thinking of asking Luke to fill in for me…”
“Representative? Me?”
“Yes. But after that earlier slip-up, would you like me to reconsider?”
“No, no, it’s alright. I’m not going to ignore you again. So, let me be your second in command!”
It’s true that you assisted me well at the last new student welcome party. He should be good enough to be entrusted with the role of representative….but I’m worried about his behavior.
“Chloe, would you be willing to assist him?”
“No, I don’t want you to take care of that stupid Luke.”
“Well then, there’s no other way. Shall we put it on hold for now?”
I concluded and began to pack up my things to head to the student council.
“Yeah, hey, wait a minute. It’s okay, it’s okay. Besides, I have an idea.”
As I was packing my bags, I was interested in his words.
“…an idea, huh?”
“Yeah. We had a confrontation last time, but I think we should work together to prepare for this one. That’s why I want him to be my assistant.”
Luke turned his attention to a student who was reviewing the lesson with a single-minded focus. The blue eyes staring at the textbook had a clear intention to study hard now.
“You’re choosing him as your assistant?”
“He regrets what happened last time, and he’s capable by nature. Besides, Master’s education policy is to learn from your mistakes.”
The words made me think of one possibility.
That in itself might be the case – but Chloe beside me made a face as if to say ‘silly Luke’, so it might be a hit.
“I understand. The formal delegation will really only happen when we know the student body is going to be busy, but you can lay the groundwork for him to accept it now. That’s your first order of business.”
Luke looked dubious for a moment, but he quickly understood that we were going to let him be the acting representative. I put a big smile on my face, saying that I’ll take care of it.
After that, I went to pick up the young lady, and then I joined His Highness Alforth and Alicia in the student council room. I went in. A prince, a heroine, and a villainous daughter, so to speak.
It would be a surprising situation if anyone besides me knew about Espressivo of Light and Darkness. Even if not, Alicia, who has become friends with the Second Prince and the Marquess, is going to attract a lot of attention.
…There’s a possibility that she’ll receive bruises, and the like. She has an excellent maid attached to her, so she might not have a chance to come out, but just in case, I’ll take care of it. I shall.
Anyway, I took the three of them and their respective servants with me to the student council room. When I knocked and entered the room, Foru was working at the system desk as usual.
Her pink-gold hair was still shaking today.
As a side effect of ‘magic power supercharging’, the speed of magic power recovery is fast. There’s nothing better than continuing to exercise wind magic. Taking advantage of that to cool off is … well, it’s not a bad choice.
However, it is recognized that people with too much magical power are prone to mental instability.
Hence, there are many people who hide the fact that they are prodigies. They also tell only a very limited number of people that Lady Sophia is a magical prodigy as well.
That’s why it’s rare to say that she consumes magic power by using magic on a regular basis.
Maybe she thinks it’s a rare disease and therefore won’t be detected, or maybe it’s a sign that she’s definitely in control… Either way, it would be wise to pretend not to notice.
More importantly, Foru seems to have responded as unconsciously as last time, not noticing us. The maid who was standing behind her moved her arm to hide from us.
“–Hyah!”
Foru cowered, and continued to look up at the maid in frustration. But it’s us that the maid is looking at. Following that gaze, Foru let out an “ah”.
“Everyone is here. Welcome.”
There’s a delicate breeze in the air.
“First of all – I don’t need to introduce myself. You’re members of this student council from today, but there’s nothing to do, so you can relax.
Foru says it blithely.
I don’t think that’s true in any amount of time, but it’s strange because when she says it so openly, I think it might be so.
But Tristan said we’re going to be busy. Considering that Foru is always working on paperwork, too, it’s impossible that there’s really nothing to do. There’s no way.
So I raised my hand and said, “Can I ask you a question?”
“What’s that? I mean, you don’t have to raise your hand every time. This is an academy, and as long as there is a school rule of equality regardless of status, you and I are equal.”
Only I and His Highness Alforth know that is the language of royalty.
Hence, from Lady Sophia’s point of view, this is a suggestion from her subordinate, but in the first place, Lady Sophia is not a person who pretends to be a person of status, so there is no problem.
When it came to Alicia, “Then you’re all friends now! I declared. Even if I didn’t know who Foru was, I would know that His Highness Alforth was royalty…it was horrible.”
“So, what is your question?”
“I know you don’t have a job, but are you always doing paperwork, Foru?”
“Oh, this? This is like a diary I’m writing in.”
“A diary, huh?”
It’s too unexpected.
But if you think about it, it doesn’t sound like the student council is going to be busy with paperwork every day. It seems that the student council was originally a faction, and there’s not much work to be done.
“So you really don’t have to do any work?”
“The rest of the time, I’ll be a little busy with applications for the school festival, but it’s not too busy.”
“Is there anything else?”
“We started out as a faction. So there’s not much to do now that I’m the only officer on the board. If you’re not busy, you can go home, okay?”
Foru’s words were convincing. And it didn’t look like she was lying. But Tristan had assured me that he was going to be busy.
As I thought, it doesn’t add up somehow.
What do you want to do? I turned my gaze to the young lady.
“Foru. Since you are the only officer on the board, you said you had nothing, in particular, to do before that. Do you know what I was doing?”
“Oh, uh, I think I’ve got a record of that in your student council office.”
“Student council office?” We looked at each other.
